09/10/2024, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Kulturhistorisches Museum Magdeburg
The city of Magdeburg has been researching and publishing its architectural-historical inventory and holdings of architecture-related art for decades. The new publication Malerei mit Licht und Glas traces the history and significance of stained glass, with a special focus on the state capital, introduces important glass artists and glass workshops, and offers a fresh view of fascinating, colourful works. The outcome is a reference work focused on stained glass and the history of art in Magdeburg, which will be a valuable aid not only for the preservation of historical monuments.
Under the heading “Preserving cultural heritage. Architectural glass art yesterday – today – tomorrow”, the book will be presented to the public for the first time at the Museum of Cultural History in Magdeburg.
