Dresden’s Collection of Prints, Drawings and Photographs (Kupferstich-Kabinett) comprises a unique array of Dutch drawings from the 16th century. One hundred of these masterpieces are now on display at a special exhibition, including works by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, Hieronymus Bosch, Frans Floris, Hendrick Goltzius, and Maarten van Heemskerck. The collection covers all areas of the art of drawing in the 16th century and the exhibition catalog aims to make it accessible to a broad audience. Its wide range of subjects include biblical and mythological scenes, renderings of everyday life, animal studies, and early examples of the art of the portrait.
