This unique exhibition at the Art Museum of the City of Luxembourg presents master paintings from the 15th to 18th century, which are part of the collection of Baron Samuel von Brukenthal (1721–1803). These include, among others, works by Italian, Flemish, Dutch, and German artists such as Jan van Eyck, Hans Memling, Jacob Jordaens, Lucas Cranach, Pieter Bruegel, Lorenzo Lotto, and Tizian. The exhibition and its catalog also introduce a wider audience to the cultural and aesthetic world of an 18th century collector.
